Homeopathy
About Sharon McAllister, Experienced Homeopath
I am a British homeopath and former registered nurse, now living in beautiful Southern Sweden with my Swedish husband. Although Sweden is often thought of as bitterly cold, the south is often much milder than people imagine, and it is here that I now continue my work with clients online. I also have an adult daughter who lives and works in Spain.
My path into healthcare began early. I trained as a nurse at 18 because I knew I wanted to work with people and make a real difference in their lives. Over the years, that led me through a wide range of roles in both the NHS and private sectors, in the UK and abroad, including clinical work, management, and teaching nurses.
Later, I was drawn to homeopathy because I wanted a way of working that allowed more time, more personal connection, and a deeper understanding of each individual. I wanted to work one-to-one with people, to listen properly, to understand the bigger picture, and to support them in a way that felt both safe and effective. That search led me to train in homeopathy in the UK, and it became the work I have remained passionate about ever since.
Qualifications & Experience
I trained in homeopathy in the UK over five years at the College of Practical Homeopathy. After four years of training, I gained my Licentiate to Practise (LCPH), followed by a further year of study to achieve Membership of the College of Practical Homeopathy (MCPH).
Since qualifying, I have spent more than 30 years in practice, building a thriving private clinic and working with many hundreds, if not thousands, of people with a wide range of physical and emotional concerns.
Alongside my clinical work, I also became deeply involved in homeopathic education. I lectured in homeopathy training colleges in the UK and abroad, and later became Vice Principal of the College of Practical Homeopathy, the very college where I had originally trained. Throughout that time, I continued to run my own successful UK-based practice.
My wider healthcare background spans more than 40 years and includes nursing, leadership, and teaching roles. That breadth of experience gives me both a strong clinical foundation and a deep appreciation of how health problems affect people as individuals, not just as diagnoses.
Today I work part-time online from Sweden, offering consultations by video call, including WhatsApp and other platforms, and posting remedies to clients afterwards.
My Approach to Homeopathy
My approach is centred on the individual, not just the label attached to their symptoms. I believe good homeopathic care begins with listening properly. People want to feel heard, understood, and taken seriously, especially when they may have been living with symptoms for a long time, or when their condition has never been fully explained or diagnosed.
Because of my nursing and healthcare background, safety has always mattered greatly to me. My aim is to work in a way that is thoughtful, responsible, and grounded in experience, while also offering the depth of attention that homeopathy allows.
I take time to build a full picture of the person sitting in front of me, looking not only at physical symptoms but also at emotional wellbeing, personal patterns, and the way each individual experiences their health. For me, the real value of this work lies in supporting people as a whole person and helping them move towards where they want to be in their physical and emotional health.
Why Work With Me
People often tell me that I am easy to talk to. I listen carefully, I have strong empathy, and I genuinely care about helping people feel supported and understood.
What I bring is a combination that is not especially common: many years of homeopathic practice together with a long professional background in healthcare, teaching, and leadership. That means I bring warmth and personal attention, but also experience, perspective, and a strong sense of responsibility.
I am passionate about homeopathy because I have seen how much it can help people. The greatest reward for me is seeing someone begin to feel more like themselves again, whether that means improvement in physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, or simply a greater sense of balance and hope.
Working online also allows clients to access support from the comfort of their own home, wherever they may be, with remedies then sent out afterwards.
